How to become kind and assertive
By Every Jay Living
Step 1: Achieving Calm
Start your day with a healthy habit that sets the tone for the day. You could pick an affirmation that inspires your day. You could write 3 things you are grateful for each morning. You could meditate anywhere between 3-10 minutes.
Step 2: Personality
Take up new hobbies, join an activity club, or class that is of interest to you. This helps to build up your confidence, becomes a place to express your creativity, and if you enjoy the activity enough it becomes a part of your personality.
Step 3: Awareness
It’s important to recognize your feelings and your emotions. Take note of when you are starting to feel depleted, have low energy, or are feeling mentally exhausted. These are physical signs that your body is telling you to protect your energy and be aware of what you are doing or who you are around.
Step 4: Boundaries
Once you have made note of the above (step 3) now it is time to set boundaries. Limit interactions with those triggers to the best of your ability. (this can go much deeper, but requires more than a post)
Step 5: Confidence
Once you become aware of how you feel, you must be confident with choosing yourself and with the boundaries you have set. To show up as your best self for others, you must show up for your self first.
Step 6: Practice feeling worthy
Constantly remind yourself you are worthy of feeling healthy. You are worthy of feeling energized.
Step 7: Self-Respect
Be your biggest cheerleader. Express to yourself how proud you are of yourself, remind yourself of your accomplishments, and speak to yourself as you would to a loved one.
Remember this takes practice and can be perfected over time through different scenarios. Sometimes, you’ll feel confident in your boundaries and other times you’ll feel like you could have done better. Regardless, trust that you will achieve this!
